About Lynne

Pianist Lynne Haeseler is a versatile artist who has performed internationally and nationally as a soloist, accompanist and dance pianist. Although trained as a classical concert pianist, Lynne has explored other collaborative and unconventional settings for piano performances. Influenced by dance theater, she expanded the form of piano recital into  integrative theatrical performance using dance, lighting, spoken word and audience participation. She coined the word “metaformance,” to describe this theatrical setting for solo piano performance.

“My intention is to amplify the deeper meaning of the music. I want to shift the focus from “doing” (performance/to do form) to essence (beyond form) where all things are connected. Hopefully, this will offer a greater understanding that life is interconnected. As an innovative and collaborative artist,  I have produced performances coordinated with sunset, a salon series at an art gallery, wine and music tastings and even a 7-course dinner paired with music.”

She currently is pianist with Ballet Arizona Dance Company and has been staff musician for Arizona State University Dance Department, Vail International Dance Festival and Regional Dance America.   Her recordings for dance include Italian Masters (2015), From Charleston to Waltz (2008), Classics for Pointe (2007and Classics for Ballet Class (1999) (www.briorecordings.com).

Dr. Haeseler received her degrees from SUNY Purchase and University of Arizona.
